Frequent Questions
Do you use the internal or external dimensions to measure a box?Boxes are measured using the internal dimensions (length x width x height – in that order) and measured in mm.
What is the difference between single wall and double wall?Single wall has one layer of corrugation and is 3 mm thick. Double wall has two layers of corrugation and is 6 mm thick.
What is your minimum quantity? One box – but it will obviously be more expensive than a larger quantity, because we still have the same setting up cost. We also handle short runs of die cut and printed boxes, but tooling and print set-up charges may apply.
How long does it take to make the boxes?Standard plain boxes usually take 48 hours, although we can sometimes slip really urgent orders into the programme. Depending on the quantity, boxes are sent out overnight with a courier, or on a pallet with a haulage company on an overnight or 2-3 day service. Do boxes come assembled? No - most box styles (except some lidded boxes) are delivered flat-packed for you to tape together.
Where will the box be taped?Tape would run along the length, so you need to decide whether a long box or a tall box is required.
What is the difference between 0201 and 0203 style boxes? The 0201 box has 4 flaps top and bottom that meet in the middle and are then taped together. A style 0203 is the same but has flaps that fully overlap (this style sometimes looks neater on very small boxes).
What are style 0411 and 0409 boxes? They are wraps – usually used for books or paintings. They wrap around the product, and meet in the middle or down the edge. The ends fold in and are secured with tape. |
